The Science

Why Potty Training Can Feel So Difficult

Potty training is one of the biggest developmental transitions of the toddler years. But learning becomes harder when a child never really notices when an accident has happened. Highly absorbent diapers and Pull-Ups are designed to keep toddlers feeling dry and comfortable. Great for diapers. Not always ideal when the goal is helping them understand: “I peed.” then… “I’m about to pee.” and eventually… “I need the potty.”

The Cause

Diapers absorb everything instantly, so toddlers never feel when they pee - their brains can't make the connection.

The Solution

Our 3-layer system lets toddlers feel their accidents to learn while protecting your floors from full accidents.

How It Works

Day 1-3

Awareness Begins

Your toddler experiences wetness and starts recognizing that an accident happened. Instead of the feeling disappearing instantly inside a highly absorbent Pull-Up, they get feedback they can begin learning from.

Week 1

The Connection Starts To Form

With repetition and consistent potty practice, toddlers can begin connecting:
Body signal → pee is coming → potty
You may start hearing more: “I’m wet.” “I peed.” or eventually… “Mommy, potty!” Those little moments are progress.

Week 2+

Independence Grows

Over time, the goal is for your toddler to begin recognizing the signal before the accident happens. They learn to stop what they’re doing, communicate, pull their underwear down, and use the potty. That’s the real win.Not needing Potease forever. But helping them graduate to regular big-kid underwear.

Why Disposables and Diapers Fail

Pull-Ups are convenient.

But they’re still designed primarily to absorb accidents.

When your goal changes from: “Keep my toddler dry.” to: “Teach my toddler when they need to pee.” your child may need something different.

They Can Get Expensive Disposable training pants are purchased again and again throughout potty training. Potease is washable and reusable, so you can keep practicing without continuously replacing disposable pairs.

They Can Feel Too Much Like Diapers If your toddler can pee and keep playing without noticing much difference, the behavior may simply continue.

Potease helps introduce the feeling and routine of real underwear.

They Don’t Encourage The Same Independence Big-kid underwear represents a new stage: Pulling them down, Using the potty, Pulling them back up, Doing more without Mom or Dad.

Potease is designed to help make that transition feel natural.

Help Them Feel. Learn. Progress.

Turn Potty Accidents Into Learning Moments

Built for Learning, Not Just Absorption

Many parents worry that potty-training underwear will either leak like regular underwear or absorb so much that it feels like another diaper. Potease is designed to sit in the middle — helping toddlers notice wetness and connect it with potty time, while giving parents extra protection from small accidents along the way.

FAQs

Have questions? We’re hereto help

are potease potpoants completely leak-proof?

No—and that's intentional. Potease is designed for potty training rather than replacing a diaper. The absorbent layers help contain smaller accidents while allowing your child to notice wetness and learn their body's signals. A full-bladder accident may still cause leakage.

how are these different from pull-ups?

Pull-Ups are designed primarily for absorption. Potease is designed for learning. They feel more like underwear and allow your child to recognize wetness while giving parents extra protection during the transition.

is it suitable for night time potty training?

We recommend Potease primarily for daytime potty training. Children who aren't consistently dry overnight may still need overnight protection. That said, many parents use Potease for night time and find success while transitioning out of diapers.

For heavy night wetting, we recommend pairing with a waterproof mat or our extra inserts for extra peace of mind.

what size should i choose?

Use your child's waist and weight as your primary guide. If your little one falls between sizes or has fuller thighs, we recommend sizing up for a more comfortable fit.

can my child wear them to daycare?

Yes. They're especially useful during active daytime potty training because they're comfortable, reusable and easy for toddlers to pull up and down themselves.
